‘Travesty’ On 7th November

Hot on the heels of his recent Disco single Back To Me, Pop legend Jimmy Somerville continues his homage to the genre with new single Travesty, available to download from 7th November. This joyous dance floor filler joins Back To Me as a taster of his forthcoming album due for release in 2015.

‘It’s everything I’ve ever loved all squashed into this big blender of disco’ enthuses Somerville. ‘I just whacked it on to full power’. Lyrically split into two parts, the first expressing sadness for the current human condition and the second filled with optimism and hope, Travesty is a bold, epic tribute to the disco classics Somerville grew up with and was inspired by.

Famous for re-making disco classics as his own – You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), Never Can Say Goodbye, Don’t Leave Me This Way and I Feel Love to name but a few – Jimmy now pays homage to the genre with an original track which features a true vintage feel enriched by his unmistakable vocals. His forthcoming album, due for release in 2015 will follow suit and will see Somerville capturing the excitement of the Disco era through his own compositions.

One of the most iconic voices in music, Jimmy Somerville – 30 years after he burst onto the scene with Smalltown Boy – now takes us on joyous musical journey where his love for music started; bringing to it his unmistakable vocals and unique talent.
